As a
result of multigenerational breeding program, Poland developed a distinct type of Arabian horse,
significantly different from Arabian horses imported from the desert. Consolidation of fine features
became the cornerstone of the Polish-bred Arabian horses distinguishing them from Arabians in
Egyptian type. The fundamental philosophy of the pure Polish Arabian horse breeding is continuation
of female lines cultivated by the legendary Polish stud farms in the
Borderlands.
The term ‘pure Polish’ concerns the type of Arabian horse bred
from those lines along with male lines considered in Poland as domestic and compatible with the
national breeding program. Compatibility includes a suitable racing trial and a pedigree with
significant presence of Polish-bred ancestors.
